SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system and a method for using combined constellations of symbols in wireless local area networks (WLAN). The power distribution coefficient is determined from a set of possible power distribution coefficients; energy is distributed based on the power distribution coefficient between the first and the second composite constellations combined to form a quadrature amplitude modulation (hereinafter – QAM) constellation. QAM constellation includes a sub-constellation of symbols in each of four quadrants, wherein an increase in the power distribution coefficient increases distances between symbols within each sub-constellation and reduces distances between sub-constellations. The first data and the second data are displayed in QAM constellation symbol, wherein the first data is displayed in the first sub-symbol of the symbol corresponding to the first composite constellation, and the second data is displayed in the second sub-symbol of the symbol corresponding to the second composite constellation; and the constellation symbol is transmitted in a frame in the form of a radio frequency (RF) signal.
EFFECT: improvement of the use of the wireless communication spectrum using combined constellations.
