SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology, in particular to a composition for the cultivation and maintenance of pluripotency of a rat embryonic stem (hereinafter – ES) cell containing a feeder cell layer non-modified for the expression of a leukemia inhibition factor (LIF), a medium that maintains pluripotency of rat ES cells, and a population of one or more rat ES cells.

EFFECT: invention is effective for obtaining a target genetic modification in rat embryonic stem (ES) cells.
