SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric traction systems of vehicles. The device for controlling the traction force of the locomotive traction motors contains two parallel-connected groups of series-excited traction motors connected in parallel to the DC generator, a limiting resistor, reversing switches that connect the limiting resistor to a group of traction motors, measuring shunts included in each group of traction motors, a current relay, the coil of which is connected to the generator circuit, a contactor, the normally closed contact of which shunts the limiting resistor, the contactor coil is connected to the auxiliary power source through the normally closed contact of the current relay, which is shunted by the normally open contact of the contactor weakening the excitation of traction motors. In this case, a correction resistor is connected in parallel with the limiting resistor, which is connected to a switching regulator connected to the control system connected to the measuring shunts, and the correction resistor is also shunted by the normally closed contact of the contactor.
EFFECT: improving the traction properties of the locomotive.
