FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method for determining arterial stiffness is implemented by an apparatus containing a control unit, a pump, an outlet valve, a shoulder cuff, a pressure sensor, an apparatus for human-computer interaction, and a communication apparatus. The control unit is in connection with the pump, the pressure sensor, the apparatus for human-computer interaction, and the communication apparatus. The outlet valve is located on the shoulder cuff, which is mechanically connected with the pump, the outlet valve, and the pressure sensor. The communication apparatus is in data exchange connection with a cloud server. Pressure values are therein received from the pressure sensor in the process of increasing or reducing the pressure on the shoulder cuff. A characteristic pressure curve is formed for the time-variant pressure value. The arterial stiffness index is obtained in accordance with the characteristic of the curve segment corresponding to a preset pressure value. The highest and lowest blood pressure values and pulse rate are obtained on the basis of the pressure value. No more than two blood pressure values, the pulse rate and the arterial stiffness index are displayed. The blood pressure values and the degree of hypertension are displayed as a graph in two-dimensional coordinates. Alternatively, the degree of atherosclerosis and the degree of hypertension are displayed as a graph in two-dimensional coordinates. Alternatively, no more than two indicators from the degree of arteriosclerosis and the degree of hypertension, as well as the arterial stiffness index, blood pressure values and the pulse rate are displayed as a multidimensional trend graph. Alternatively, no more than four indicators from the blood pressure values, the pulse rate, the degree of arteriosclerosis and the degree of hypertension are displayed, and the arterial stiffness index is displayed as a dial indicator.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of determining arterial stiffness and a more precise arterial stiffness index obtained through a simplified procedure suitable for wide use, so that various parameters can be simultaneously measured and displayed, including the degree of hypertension of the patient, based on the changes in the values of their arterial pressure over time, wherein a point on the graph in two-dimensional coordinates indicates the coordinate position of the values of the highest and lowest blood pressure.
