SUBSTANCE: toric lens comprises a main portion having a toric surface and a spherical surface located opposite the toric surface, the main portion comprising an eyelid stabilization structure having a thickness of less than 200 mcm, the spherical surface being configured to provide spherical refraction of the lens, the toric surface being configured to providing a cylindrical lens refraction that does not fully correct the cylindrical refraction of the eye due to astigmatism, and wherein the spherical lens refraction is configured to position a minimum circle of the ophthalmic lens on or adjacent to the user's retina at a target alignment angle.
EFFECT: use of this group of inventions will improve lens correction and freedom of mechanical movement to increase the comfort of wearing the lens.
