FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to neurology, and can be used to evaluate swallowing function in patients with chronic impairment of consciousness. The back of the functional bed, on which the patient with a tracheostomy is located, is set at an angle of 45-70 degrees. The patient in the vestibule of the oral cavity, in the space between the teeth and the cheek is injected with 5 ml of a 1% solution of brilliant green in dilution: brilliant green - saline 1:10, respectively. At the tracheocannula, the channel valve is left open for sanitation of the supracuffial space. Within 5 minutes after the introduction of the solution, the contents flowing through the channel are evaluated. When green-colored contents appear, it is considered that the patient has dysphagia with a risk of aspiration of oropharyngeal contents into the respiratory tract, in the absence of coloring of the contents, it is considered that there are no violations of the act of swallowing.
EFFECT: method provides screening of dysphagia and prompt detection of swallowing recovery in a tracheostomy patient with chronic impairment of consciousness in any period of his areactive wakefulness, regardless of the possibility of contact with medical personnel, the method is low-cost and can be used without additional costs due to the methods of introducing the solution.
