FIELD: navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to navigation in ice conditions, in particular to submarines that destroy the ice cover with resonant flexural gravity waves. A method is proposed for destroying the ice cover by an underwater vessel by excitation of resonant bending-gravity waves in the ice, in which a body with positive buoyancy is placed under the first wave crest behind the stern of the vessel and towed at the speed of the vessel. In the process of towing the body, it is given a poorly streamlined shape, which leads to an increase in the amplitude of the excited flexural-gravity waves.
EFFECT: increasing the efficiency of the process of destruction of the ice cover.
