FIELD: information protection.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for providing protection of documents from forgery. Toner obtained by an emulsion aggregation method has particles containing a core and a shell, while the core contains an IR marker, crystalline polyester resin and amorphous polyester resin. The IR marker is selected from a group consisting of an inorganic ceramic nanoparticle, an IR-radiating organic dye, an IR-radiating quantum dot. The IR marker has the maximum radiation in the range of wavelengths from 1000 to 1200 nm. A method for the production of toner, and a method for the authentication of an item are also proposed.
EFFECT: inventions allow for increasing a level of document protection.
