SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for manufacturing stainless steel strips. Hot rolling is carried out in the initial process and subsequent cold rolling on the cold rolling line. Hot rolling is stopped when the thickness of the strip is decreased to values from 2.0 to 6.5 mm, it is cooled from the final temperature of hot rolling by abrupt cooling to below 700°C. During subsequent cold rolling, the strip is passed through the specified cold rolling line, which contains a cold rolling mill in the initial part of the line, an annealing section, a scale breaking stage, a shot blasting stage and an etching section. The specified strip, when it first passes through at least one cold rolling mill in the initial part of the line, is rolled together with the remaining dark oxides that formed on the strip in the hot state during the initial process. The thickness of the strip is reduced by 10-60% during the first passage through the specified cold rolling mill and by 3-15% during the first passage through the final cold rolling mill.

EFFECT: adaptation to the requirements regarding thickness, surface condition and strength of the final product is facilitated.
