FIELD: cold rolling processes and equipment.
SUBSTANCE: process comprises steps of cold rolling cast or hot rolled strip of stainless steel having dark color caused by presence of oxides remained after previous rolling stage of said strips in one or several (11 - 13) cold rolling passes arranged one after another. During such procedure thickness of strip is lowered by 10 - 75 % and it causes cracking of oxide scale layer. Then strip is annealed inside furnace in atmosphere provided due to heating furnace by means of burners using liquid or gaseous fuel combusted by means of gas containing at least 85 vol.% of oxygen and no more than 10 vol. % of nitrogen. In such furnace atmosphere strip may be annealed without oxidation of its surfaces exposed after cracking of oxide scale layer. It allows to eliminate next procedures of strip scale breaking and etching strip. Such process is realized in manufacturing line having at least one initial cold rolling mill, annealing station in normalized atmosphere inside furnace, etching station.
EFFECT: enhanced quality of strip surface, improved mechanical properties of strip.
