FIELD: aerosol-generating systems with electrical heating.

SUBSTANCE: nebulizer for an electrically heated aerosol generating system comprises a nebulizer housing having an air inlet and an air outlet, a reservoir portion for housing a liquid aerosol-forming substrate; an air flow path extending longitudinally between the air inlet and the air outlet, the atomizer housing defining said reservoir portion and the air flow path; a planar fluid-permeable heating element disposed between the air flow passage and the reservoir portion such that one side of the planar fluid-permeable heating element is in fluid communication with the air flow passage and the opposite side of the planar fluid-permeable heating element is in fluid communication along the fluid with the liquid in the reservoir portion, the planar fluid-permeable heating element extending in the longitudinal direction; and a heater support portion on which the planar fluid-permeable heating element is supported. The heater support portion is located in the atomizer housing and is located between the reservoir portion and the air flow passage so as to allow fluid from the reservoir portion to pass through the air flow passage through the planar fluid-permeable heating element, and is pressed into the atomizer housing to provide separating the reservoir part from the air flow channel.

EFFECT: sturdy and compact aerosol generating device is provided that is easy to manufacture and assemble, yet is capable of generating a sufficient volume of aerosol to meet the needs of users.
