Device comprises casing (102) having cavity (108) for receiving cartridge, and heating unit (300) located in said cavity and comprising elongated support member (302) connected to housing and configured to extend into cartridge open channel openings, inserted into said cavity, and a plurality of electric heaters (400) attached to the elongated support member and spaced apart along the length thereof. Device also comprises power supply (104) connected to heating unit and electric circuit (106) configured to measure one or more electrical parameters of electrical heaters and calculating the estimated remaining amount or estimated distribution of the aerosol-generating substrate in the cartridge based on the measured electrical parameters. Invention also discloses consumable cartridge (200) for use with device, aerosol generating system (10) with electric heating and set for aerosol generating system with electric heating.
