FIELD: treatment of water.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in treatment of waste water. The method for sorption extraction of chromium (VI) from aqueous solutions on mechano-activated graphite includes treatment of the solution with a sorbent followed by separation thereof. The solution undergoes treatment at a pH of 6.3 in an acetate buffer medium. Mechano-activated graphite with an average crystallite size of no more than 10 nm, heat-treated at a temperature of 250°C for two days, is used as a sorbent. The sorbent:solution mass ratio is 1:150. The solution is heated to 90°C for an hour, and the sorbent is separated by filtering.
EFFECT: invention allows for a reduction in the time of treatment of water from chromium (VI) ions, reduction in the required mass of the sorbent per 1 liter of water, increase in the maximum capacity of the sorbent.
