METHOD FOR PREDICTING THE TYPE OF TREATMENT OF CHILDREN WITH CHRONIC ADENOIDITIS AND EXUDATIVE OTITIS MEDIA Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61B5/12 A61F11/00

Abstract RU 2775609 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to pediatric otorhinolaryngology, and can be used to predict the risk of hearing loss in children with chronic adenoiditis and exudative otitis media. Subjective complaints are assessed according to the VAS: difficulty in nasal breathing, hearing loss, a feeling of stuffiness in the ears, nasal speech and mucopurulent discharge from the nose. Tympanometry and audiometry are performed and evaluated. Concomitant pathology is assessed: allergopathology and gastrointestinal disorders, as well as artificial feeding, parents’ smoking, gestosis during pregnancy, cesarean section delivery, as well as visits to preschool institutions and the duration of the disease. The indicators are evaluated in points in accordance with Table 1 contained in the description. The values of the points received are summed up and the risk of developing hearing loss is predicted.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to predict the risk of hearing loss in children with chronic adenoiditis and exudative otitis media by assessing the complex of the most significant risk factors.
