SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring technology and can be used for high-precision determination of the level of a dielectric fluid located in a container, regardless of the dielectric permittivity of the liquid. In a method for measuring the level of a dielectric liquid in a container, in which a vertically volumetric waveguide resonator is placed in a container, the level of the dielectric liquid in which is equal to its level in the container, a substance with a frequency-dependent dielectric constant is placed in the cavity of the waveguide resonator, the frequency range of which is selected within the limits of the change in the resonant frequency of the waveguide resonator, which occurs when filling the cavity of the waveguide resonator with a dielectric liquid, electromagnetic oscillations are excited in the waveguide resonator at the first resonant frequency, the first resonant frequency is measured, electromagnetic oscillations are excited in the waveguide resonator at the second resonant frequency, the second resonant frequency is measured and a joint functional transformation of the measured first and second resonant frequencies is performed.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of measurements.
