SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of navigation. The proposed method and device are designed to determine the coordinates of the object. The essence of the invention consists in registering the vector of the gravitational field of the Earth, by which the direction to the center of the Earth is determined. Then the phase of the Moon is recorded by the position of the axis of rotation of the center of mass of the Earth-Moon, and the longitude of the place is calculated. Next, the orthogonal direction to the axis of rotation of the Earth is determined by passive location, the latitude of the place is calculated by the angle between this direction and the direction to the center of the Earth. To implement the method, a Coriolis force vector sensor is used: a closed acoustic resonator filled with gas, which is an integral part of a coherent oscillator.

EFFECT: construction of a navigation system with the possibility of autonomous location registration.
