FIELD: microwave technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to microwave technology. The device is designed to work in television, radar and equipment for physical research in the decimeter frequency range of 300-900 MHz. A small-sized istron contains a cathode, a control grid, an anode, “grid-to-ground” and “cathode-to-ground” blocking capacitors, drift tubes, coaxial-type input and output resonators, a collector, which is also an internal conductor of the coaxial-type output resonator, and a microwave energy input coupling device. Blocking capacitors "grid-ground" and "cathode-ground" are made in the form of flat washers from a dielectric material metallized on both sides. The device for coupling the input of microwave energy consists of several frames connected in parallel to each other using conductive jumpers, while the dimensions of the frames and the distance between the extreme frames must satisfy certain conditions.

EFFECT: reduction in the dimensions of the output powerful microwave amplifier, an increase in reliability and an increase in the gain and efficiency of the device.
