SUBSTANCE: invention relates to new compounds in accordance with the formula I, where R1 and R2 are independently selected from a group consisting of fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodine, and R3 is NR3aR3b, R3a is independently selected from hydrogen and C1-6alkyl, and R3b is C1-6 alkyl. Halogen-substituted derivatives of sobetirome compounds with improved pharmacological characteristics relatively to sobetirome, pharmaceutical compositions that contain such compounds, and methods for the treatment of diseases, such as neurodegenerative disorders, using these pharmaceutical compositions, are disclosed.
EFFECT: obtaining sobetirome derivatives.
