MICROWAVE ACTIVE MODULE Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC H01Q13/00

Abstract RU 2355080 C2

FIELD: physics; radio.

SUBSTANCE: proposed device relates to radio electronics and is an active oscillator integrated with a microwave antenna, which can be used in active phased antenna arrays, constructed without a beam-forming circuit from dividers and phase changers. The radiator pattern is axially symmetrical, which allows for using it in active phased antenna arrays. The proposed device has dielectric substrate (10) with metallised surface (2) with circular hole (3) on it, forming a planar dielectric resonator, located on the second surface of the substrate with the layout of the active oscillator, comprising a U-shaped section of microstrip (4) of the planar dielectric resonator and semiconductor generating element (5). The device also has a system for controlling frequency the planar dielectric resonator, with varicap (8), connected between two sections of microstrips (6) and (7), one of which (6) is short-circuited at the second end, as well as metallic shield (13), located on the side of the metalised surface of the substrate and electrically connected to metallisation (2) of substrate (1).

EFFECT: possibility of not only generating a microwave signal with electronic frequency tuning, but transmitting it to the upper hemisphere as well.
