FIELD: polymer chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: polymer optical fibres (POFs), in particular to active polymer optical fibres (APOV). Invention can be used in fibre amplifiers, tunable lasers, spectrometers, as scintillation and spectrum-shifting POVs. An active polymer optical fibre consists of a polymer core containing phosphors and a polymeric reflective cladding. At the same time, active polymer optical fibre with a radiation capture angle of 52.7° is obtained by applying a reflective shell from a fluoropolymer melt with a refractive index of 1.363 to a core of polystyrene or polystyrene copolymer containing organosilicon phosphors.

EFFECT: expansion of the field of application of the active polymer fibre.
