FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering. The relay protection complex contains at least one line differential protection set and at least one HTSC CLD resistance protection set, which disconnects the line with the HTSC CLD in accordance with the current resistance value and the total duration of the HTSC CLD operating modes in the resistive state. The claimed method for protecting the HTSC CLD in a high-voltage network line without a shunt element includes: monitoring the current value in the line of the HTSC CLD installation and the value of the resistance of the HTSC CLD by at least one relay line protection; also tracking the total duration of the operating modes of the HTSC CLD in the resistive state, including the determination of changes in the value of the resistance derivative with respect to time. It is determined whether to disconnect the line from the high-voltage network if at least one of the specified values is above the limit value.
EFFECT: providing line protection with a current-limiting device based on high-temperature superconductors (HTSC CLD) in a high-voltage network without a shunt element and increasing the duration of continuous operation of the HTSC CLD in time in a high-voltage network with a non-linear resistance characteristic.
