FIELD: aviation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for determining the location of a radiation source from an aircraft. To determine the location, a phase direction finder is placed on board the aircraft, mounted on the wingtips of the antenna, initially the current roll angle of the aircraft is measured, as well as the angle between the directions to the radiation source and to the right antenna with a vertex in the middle of the antenna base, which is parallel to the transverse axis of the associated coordinate system of the aircraft, memorize the measured data, carry out an additional roll of the aircraft, re-measure the angle of roll and the angle with the vertex in the middle of the antenna base between the directions to the radiation source and to the right antenna, calculate the range to the radiation source in a certain way.
EFFECT: reduced time for determining the location of the radiation source.
