SUBSTANCE: inventions group relates to medicine, namely to a method for the rehabilitation of patients with impaired motor functions of the upper limbs and a simulator for implementing the method. The simulator contains handles and a horizontal platform. The horizontal platform consists of front and rear horizontal guide rails mounted on support legs. A bed is installed on the horizontal platform to place the patient on it along the horizontal guide bars. The front horizontal guide bar has a front rail on which the front horizontal and vertical handles are mounted, and the rear horizontal guide bar has a rear rail on which the rear horizontal and vertical handles are mounted. Each handle contains a movement module having rotation rollers and configured to move longitudinally along the rail. Each horizontal handle has a handle mounted on the motion module with the possibility of rotation around its axis so that when the horizontal handle moves along the rail, the axis of rotation of the handle lies in a plane parallel to the plane of the lounger and is oriented perpendicular to the rail. Each vertical handle has a handle mounted on the movement module with the possibility of rotation around its axis so that when the vertical handle moves along the rail, the axis of rotation of the handle lies in a plane perpendicular to the bed plane and is oriented perpendicular to the rail. The method consists in performing an exercise in which the patient, lying on a bed, holding the handles of the horizontal handles or the handles of the vertical handles with his hands, makes reciprocating movements with his hands, moving the handles along the rails.

EFFECT: increased variability of changes in the load applied to different muscle groups of the trunk, arms and joints during training.
