FIELD: rails ultrasonic testing.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for ultrasonic testing of rails. The substance of the invention lies in the fact that ultrasonic vibrations are emitted from the rolling surface of the rail head inside it in the specified scanning zones and time zones by means of two ultrasonic transducers, providing the possibility of a single reflection of ultrasonic vibrations from the structural element of the rail, moving the ultrasonic transducers along the longitudinal axis of the rail, receiving reflected ultrasonic vibrations by ultrasonic transducers in the specified scanning areas and time zones in the process of moving ultrasonic transducers and measuring the parameters of received ultrasonic vibrations, the analysis results of which are used to judge the presence of defects, at the same time, its sole is used as a structural element of the rail for a single reflection of ultrasonic vibrations, the introduction of ultrasonic vibrations into the rail is carried out at an angle of 39 to 47 degrees along the longitudinal axis of the rail both in the direction of movement of the ultrasonic transducers and against it, the upper limit of the time aperture is set from 245 to 295 µs, and the scanning zones are selected from the condition of ultrasonic transducers being outside the area of the first bolt hole from the corresponding rail end and the section from the first bolt hole to the corresponding rail end at a distance of at least 250 mm from this rail end.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of expanding the types of detected defects.
