METHOD FOR INSTALLING A SYSTEM FOR INTRACAVITARY GAMMA THERAPY IN PATIENTS WITH CERVICAL STUMP CANCER IN COMBINATION WITH COMPLETE PROLAPSE THEREOF Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61N5/10 A61B5/00

Abstract RU 2777345 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely, to medical radio therapy, oncology, and gynaecology. After a gynaecological and transvaginal ultrasound examination, fixation of the cervical stump, bougienage, and probing of the cervical canal are performed consecutively. A centering endostat is then installed with a bend of the working part and a limiter set at a custom selected level. The prolapsed stump is set, resting with the swab on the limiter of the endostat. The position of the centering endostat is monitored, and lateral endostats are installed under transabdominal ultrasound assistance, followed by tight vaginal swabbing.

EFFECT: method allows for a a high degree of accuracy in determining the length of the cervical stump and the remaining cervical canal, for selecting and safely setting the centering endostat to the optimal depth; allows increasing the effectiveness of the implementation of plans for intracavitary gamma therapy and provides control of the reproducibility and safety of installation of therapeutic systems.
