SUBSTANCE: claimed group of inventions relates to the field of radioisotope electric current generators, namely to the design and method for manufacturing nuclear batteries. An autonomous power source (APS) of supercapacitor type based on beta-emitting radionuclides (strontium-90, or nickel-63, or technetium-99) includes a protective housing, a first electrode with a carbon-containing material containing beta-emitting radionuclides, and a second metal electrode. The electrolyte fills the space between the electrodes. The carbon-containing material on the surface of the first electrode is made of a carbon matrix. The matrix is obtained by pyrolysis of a polymer material containing beta-emitting radionuclide. An ionic liquid is used as an electrolyte.

EFFECT: high electrical capacity is achieved.
