FIELD: isotope separation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of isotope separation of light chemical elements. A method for the separation of boron isotopes by the gas centrifugal method in a cascade of gas centrifuges with the production of a highly concentrated boron-10 isotope is proposed. Boron trifluoride is used as the working substance. The concentration of the target isotope boron-10 is carried out in two stages. The first stage, from the natural content of the boron-10 CF isotope to a CPI concentration value less than the final one, equal to CP, is carried out by one of the physicochemical methods of separation in a cascade of two-phase separating elements, namely, chemical exchange rectification, or low-temperature rectification, or chemical isotope exchange. The second stage, from the CPI concentration to the final CP concentration, is carried out by the gas centrifugal method in a cascade of single-phase separating elements with the simultaneous production of a second boron-containing product with a 10B boron isotope concentration equal to CPII, less than the final CP and less than CPI, but greater than the CF concentration. The working substance during its transfer from the cascade of two-phase separating elements to the cascade of single-phase elements is subjected to conditioning.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the degree of extraction of the target boron isotope, increase productivity, reduce the cost of separation equipment, and reduce the production cost of the high concentration 10B isotope.
