Essence: the device for generating electric sparks for calibration of photo-recording equipment contains a charging unit, working and storage capacitors, a static kilovoltmeter, a light-tight chamber, electrodes forming a working spark gap for the formation of a single spark located inside the light-tight chamber, electrodes forming an auxiliary spark gap identical to the working spark gap to ensure the discharge of the storage capacitor located outside the light-tight chamber. cameras, a dielectric shield with slit, located between the electrodes forming the auxiliary spark gap, perpendicular to the axis of the auxiliary spark gap, the unit of movement of the dielectric shield. The storage capacitor is connected to one of the electrodes forming an auxiliary spark gap and to the charging unit. The working and auxiliary spark gaps are connected in series.
