FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to synthesis of all-trans isomers of lutein or zeaxanthin substances, wherein at the first stage, in order to produce a lutein or zeaxanthin benzoic acid ester in the presence of Novozym 435, lutein or zeaxanthin 0.002 mol, and benzoic acid 0.005 mol (0.6 g) are used, esterification time is 12 hours, process temperature is 37°C, speed of rotation of the stirrer is 50 rpm, the unreacted benzoic acid is precipitated at 4°C, lutein or zeaxanthin benzoates are recrystallised at 10°C; at the second stage, lutein or zeaxanthin benzoates undergo stereo-conjugated hydrolysis using an alkaline agent - 10% alcohol solution of potassium hydroxide, at a temperature of 20 to 22°C, hydrolysis time is 30 minutes, and rotation speed of the stirrer is 100 rpm.
EFFECT: effective synthesis of all-trans isomers of lutein or zeaxanthin substances.
