FIELD: nuclear engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear engineering, namely to containers for collecting and transporting fragments of nuclear materials (NM) from the accident site to the collection, identification and packaging point (IPP) located near the accident site for the purpose of repackaging for further transportation for processing and/or long-term storage. The protective container contains a body - a base with a wall, a lid, a fixing device and a cargo chamber. The container is equipped with electronic scales located in the lid and a handle fixed on the body in stoppers containing shaped recesses. The body and cover are cast from a boron-containing composite material providing neutron protection, containing polypropylene, amorphous boron and/or boron nitride. The thickness of the cover and body is selected at least 20 mm.
EFFECT: invention ensures nuclear safety and creates an easy-to-use container by one contractor due to low weight and simplicity of design.
