SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear engineering in the field of low-level, medium-level radioactive waste management. The return shipping container includes a body, a lid installed in the upper part of the body, and an insert placed inside the body. The container body is made cylindrical, the upper part of which is provided with a flange protruding outward, in which holes for bolts are made. The first insert is placed inside the housing with a height less than the height of the housing in accordance with the shape of its internal cavity. A cup made of a titanium-based alloy is closely inserted into this liner. The cup flange has vertical and horizontal holes for fixing the cup and body with bolts. The container lid contains a titanium-based alloy plate, on the edge of the upper surface of which an annular groove is made, into which a steel ring is inserted by an edge so that it protrudes above the plate, forming a volume into which the second insert is inserted. A steel disc is installed over the second liner. Handles are welded to the top of the disc. The outer surface of the housing is made with vertical stiffening ribs, and the ends of the stiffening ribs are made with hooks.

EFFECT: invention allows to simplify the radioactive waste management scheme.
