FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of organic chemistry, namely, to methods and apparatus for continuous production of dicarboxylic acid esters, and can be used for producing dicarboxylic acid esters from vegetable oils. Method for continuous production of dicarboxylic acid esters includes esterification of dicarboxylic acids in a reactor, followed by isolating the target product. The initial components are pre-mixed in a mechanical mixer and directed by means of a high-pressure pump for esterification; the process of esterification is performed in a coil-type flow reactor at a temperature of 339.8°C or higher; the resulting reaction products are then supplied to a condenser for cooling; the cooled reaction products are directed to two containers for collecting and separating reaction products configured to be alternately filled with the reaction products from the condenser; and the line for the discharge of reaction products from the condenser is bound with the mechanical mixer. Unit for continuous production of dicarboxylic acid esters comprises a reactor and a condenser, located in series. The unit additionally comprises a mechanical mixer and a high-pressure pump, located in series; the reactor is made as a coil-type flow reactor; and in the section following the condenser, the unit is equipped with two containers equipped with valves, configured to be alternately filled with the reaction products along the line for the discharge from the condenser, wherein the line for the discharge of reaction products from the condenser is in communication with the mechanical mixer. The technical task hereof consists in developing a method and a unit for production of dicarboxylic acid esters, allowing for the continuous production of dicarboxylic acid esters without applying a catalyst, simplification of the method and the process of operation and maintenance of the unit, increase in the quality of end products and the productivity. The proposed method and unit allow for a continuous process of producing dicarboxylic acid esters without using a catalyst. The proposed unit is simple and highly productive, while small-sized, thus facilitating the operation and maintenance thereof. The proposed method ensures the stability of the modes of the process of esterification and, therefore, a higher quality of the products, and allows for an increase in the productivity of equipment.
