FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to pulmonology, and can be used for prediction of infectious complications of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). For this purpose, method includes determining in blood serum concentration of cytokines: interleukin 17 (IL-17), interleukin 21 (IL-21), gamma-interferon (IFNγ) tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNFα), then based on value of calculated value of ratio (IL-17 + IL-21) : (IFNγ + TNFα) determining risk of infectious complications. At ratio equal to or less (≤) than 3.89 standard units, favourable clinical course of COPD with a low risk of infectious complications is predicted, and at ratio equal to or greater (≥) than 3.90 standard units, unfavourable course of COPD is predicted with a high risk of infectious complications.
EFFECT: invention allows to prevent infectious complications and progression of bronchial obstruction in patients with COPD.
