FIELD: icebreaking operations.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to icebreaking operations. A device for the destruction of the ice cover is proposed, which is an underwater vessel moving under the ice at a resonant speed and exciting resonant bending-gravity waves. At the fore end of the vessel in a vertical plane perpendicular to the diametrical plane of the vessel, along the entire perimeter of its hull, pumps are installed that are capable of pumping overboard the water located in the space between the light and strong hulls of the vessel. The outlet channels of the pumps are located at an acute angle to the surface of the light hull of the vessel and directed towards its bow.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at improving the efficiency of the destruction of the ice cover.
