FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of shipbuilding, in particular to submarines that destroy the ice cover by resonant flexural-gravity waves. A method for destruction of the ice cover by an underwater vessel is proposed, which consists in the excitation of flexural-gravitational waves in the ice when the vessel moves under the ice at a resonant speed. During movement, the ship is given a bluff shape by forming hydrodynamic vortices in the bow and stern ends, and water is sucked to form vortices from the area of minimum pressure arising on the upper surface in the middle part of the ship's hull. Water suction is carried out periodically with the frequency of resonant flexural-gravitational waves for a time equal to half the period of these waves.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of ice cover destruction.
