FIELD: pharmaceuticals.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an application of β-aspartyl-arginine by the formula H-Asp(Arg)-OH for producing a pharmaceutical composition exhibiting nephroprotective activity, and to a method for treating nephropathy of various origins, consisting in introducing a nephroprotective pharmaceutical composition to the patient, in a form for parenteral, oral, intranasal, local administration; wherein said composition contains, as an active principle, an effective amount of the β-aspartyl-arginine peptide by the formula H-Asp(Arg)-OH and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier; wherein the dose of the agent in parenteral administration is 0.1 to 10 mcg/kg body weight once a day, in intranasal administration 1.0 to 10 mcg/kg body weight once a day, in oral administration 10.0 to 100 mcg/kg body weight twice a day for the duration necessary to achieve a therapeutic effect.

EFFECT: nephroprotective effect of the H-Asp(Arg)-OH peptide provided by stimulating proliferation and reducing the inflammatory processes in renal tissue, as well as activating the metabolism and normalising the synthesis of tissue-specific proteins.
