FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering, in particular to ball bearings. A ball bearing contains an outer and an inner ring. Balls are placed on the raceways of the outer and inner rings. The raceways are formed by two peripheral sections, outlined by arcuate lines, and a central one. The minimum radius of the central section of the raceway, as well as its width, made not less than the width of the contact with the balls, is determined in relation to the nominal diameter of the balls, the upper limit deviation of the tolerance field of the ball diameter, the diameter of the raceway of the inner ring of the bearing along the bottom of the central section of the raceway, coefficient that takes into account the elastic characteristics of the contacting bodies and the maximum load on the balls.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of the bearing.
