FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for production of materials with low flammability. Method of producing a fire-retardant additive based on glycoluril involves mixing glycoluril and triphenylphosphite with an aliphatic or aromatic aldehyde. Reaction is carried out in the presence of a Lewis acid catalyst at temperature of 70–100 °C for 120–360 minutes. Molar ratio of components of glycoluril / aldehyde / triphenylphosphite is 1:5:5.
EFFECT: creating a method of producing a fire-retardant additive based on glycoluril without using an additional step for producing tetrachloroglycoluril, as well as in reducing the reaction time.
