SUBSTANCE: present invention discloses a method for producing S-nicotine, including: condensation in the presence of the main catalyst, cyclization by reaction during heating with a return refrigerator with concentrated hydrochloric acid to produce 4-chloro-1-(3-pyridine)-1-butanone, reaction with an aminating reagent under alkaline conditions to produce 4-amino-1-(3-pyridine)-1-butanone, exposure to (+)-B-diisopinocampheyl-chlorborane to obtain a chiral hydroxyl group so as to obtain (S)-4-amino-1-(pyridine-3-yl)butane-1-ol, chlorination and cyclization in the presence of a base to produce S-demethylnicotine, and finally the methylation of an amine to produce S-nicotine. The present technological solution contains mild reaction conditions and is easy to work with, and S-nicotine is obtained in one configuration with high selectivity; the yield and purity of S-nicotine are high, and the steps are simple, and the present technological solution uses cheap and readily available nicotinate and γ-butyrolactone as starting materials, and the cost is low, which is especially suitable for the industrial production of S-nicotine.
