FIELD: computing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of computing technology and is aimed at developing a method and system for determining the position of moving objects autonomously, without engaging external tools, and in a decentralised way, without allocating a control centre in the system. The method for autonomous decentralised collective position determination of motor vehicles moving on the highway is characterised by the fact that each section of the highway comprises a passive movement corrector containing at least three optical retroreflectors, and the object comprises a map of the highway section divided into numbered slots, wherein each one is provided to no more than one object, wherein in order to determine their own position on the highway, the objects synchronously check the slots when the slot provided to the object is reached. The object simultaneously transmits optical signals to all retroreflectors of the corrector, receives the reflected signals, determines its own position on the highway and sends the received data by non-directional radio signals simultaneously to all objects in order to correct the data in the map and further apply said data when controlling the movement of the object. In order for an object to enter a section of the highway with numbered slots from a section that is not divided into slots or is not located on the highway, the objects, while comparing the values of their registration numbers, herein arrange said numbers by magnitude and by using the new numbering ensure the consecutive movement of objects in the map for further real movement thereof on the highway.
EFFECT: possibility of autonomous decentralised collective position determination of vehicles moving on the highway.
