FIELD: computing technology.

SUBSTANCE: technical result is achieved by means of a system for determining the ownership of a bank card by a user, containing: at least one computing apparatus of a finance and credit institution; a geocoding server receiving addresses in text format and generating geographical coordinates in response thereto; a first clustering server configured to generate data including clustered points of the geographical coordinates of the user and transfer the generated data to said computing apparatus of the finance and credit institution; a data storage containing a database including data on the transactions made by multiple bank cards of users and data containing information on the holder of each of bank card, marking each bank card; at least one computing apparatus of the payment system; a match server configured to analyse the processed data and the data on clustered spending points, received from said computing apparatus of the finance and credit institution and said computing apparatus of the payment system.

EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of authentication of the holder of a bank card.
