SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the chemical industry, namely to a method for producing methyl esters of pyridine carboxylic acids in the form of a salt of the methyl ester of dicyanoacetic acid. The method involves the interaction at room temperature of pyridine carboxylic acid and tetracyanoethylene, previously dissolved in an equimolar amount of methanol.

EFFECT: simplifying the method for obtaining pyridine carboxylic acid esters, carrying out synthesis without constructing complex chemical plants at room temperature, shortening the reaction time, and making it easy to track the process by means of a hydroquinone sample.
