FIELD: audio processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for processing of a monophonic signal in a 3D audio decoder, including a processing stage for binauralization of decoded signals intended for spatial playback by a headset. The method consists in that, when indications of non-fulfillment of binauralization processing are detected (E200) in a data stream, which is a monophonic signal, where the indication is associated with playing back spatial position information, the decoded monophonic signal is sent (O-E200) to a stereo playback node, which takes into account position information to create two playback channels (E220). In this case, channels are processed at a stage (E230) of direct mixing, where these two signals are combined with the binauralized signal obtained as a result of binauralization processing for playback (E240) by the audio headset. The present invention also relates to a decoding device, using which a processing method is implemented.
EFFECT: provision of the transmission of a signal for playback in a specific position relatively to the ear of a person wearing an audio headset, regardless of an audio scene played back by the same headset, while optimizing a frequency range required by the used codec.
