SUBSTANCE: invention relates to audio signal processing. The proposed system of adaptive sound processes audio data comprising a number of independent monophonic audio streams. The metadata describing whether said stream is a channels-based or an objects-based one were associated with one or more of the streams . Channels-based streams contain data-presenting information encoded by the channel name; and object-based streams contain location information encoded by the location expressions encoded in the related metadata. A codec packs independent audio streams into a single binary sequence, which contains all the audio data. This configuration allows to represent the sound data in accordance with allocentric reference system, in which the location of the sound data representation is based on the characteristics of the playback environment. The objects location metadata contain relevant information of the allocentric reference system, necessary for the correct sound playback with the use of the locations of available speakers in the room adapted to play adaptive audio content.
EFFECT: invention enhances the efficiency of the system by generating and presenting audio signals in a variety of playback environments.
