FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power engineering and can be used at thermal power plants, in boiler rooms, etc. for the ignition and flare combustion of a fuel-air mixture. Apparatus for electric ignition and flare combustion of a fuel-air mixture comprises rod electrodes for generating an electric arc, as well as fuel and secondary air supply paths. The rod electrodes are installed in the area of combustion and ignition of a turbulent fuel-air mixture; swirlers are installed at the outlet of the fuel supply path and in the secondary air supply path, wherein the swirler installed in the secondary air supply path constitutes a blade swirler and is equipped with an apparatus for repositioning the blades, configured to direct the secondary air flow both codirectionally to the fuel flow and in the opposite direction.
EFFECT: possibility of increasing the stability of ignition of the fuel-air mixture and ensuring reliable combustion with minimal carry-over of the non-ignited fuel into the burner.
