SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power engineering and can be used at thermal power plants, in boiler houses, etc. to provide independent ignition and stabilization of combustion of pulverized coal and water-coal fuel mixtures without using additional ignition fuels, electric discharge. Device for plasma ionisation ignition and combustion maintenance of fuel-air mixture comprises housing divided into mixing area of fuel-air mixture and ignition chamber area, rod electrodes for electric discharge generation, fuel pipeline and air pipeline, ignition zone of fuel-air mixture, combustion fuel-air mixture flame zone. Area of ignition chamber is divided into two reaction sections - section of electric discharge and section of thermal radiation of muffle, wherein ignition zone of fuel-air mixture is able to move in area of ignition chamber between sections of electric discharge and thermal radiation of muffle, providing the possibility of outputting the flame of combustion of the fuel-air mixture from the area of the ignition chamber to the area of the furnace space. Flare of fuel-air mixture moves from area of ignition chamber in direction of furnace space and back due to change in power of electric discharge, including by discharge.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to ignite pulverized coal fuel with high content of moisture and low level of volatile components with minimum specific power consumption and reduced risk of fuel slagging inside the burner device.
