FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, gerontology and geriatrics, and can be used to predict the development of diabetic retinopathy in patients with geriatric syndromes. The content of matrix metalloproteinase-2 and matrix metalloproteinase-9 in blood serum is determined. Predicting the development of diabetic retinopathy is carried out on the basis of a regression model of matrix metalloproteinases according to the formula:
y=28.315+3.892×x1+2.458×x2, where x1 is the content of matrix metalloproteinase-2 in blood serum, ng/ml; x2 - content of matrix metalloproteinase-9 in blood serum, ng/ml. The values of the regression model of matrix metalloproteinases 964.305-1294.142 predict the development of diabetic retinopathy in patients with geriatric syndromes.
EFFECT: method provides an opportunity to obtain an objective quantitative assessment of the risk of developing diabetic retinopathy in patients with geriatric syndromes by using highly informative blood serum indicators and choosing the optimal management tactics for this category of patients.
