FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to ophthalmology and otorhinolaryngology, and can be used for prediction of purulent-septic rhinosinusogenic complications of orbit and eyelids in inflammatory diseases of paranasal sinuses in children. That is ensured by leukocyte shift index (LSI). If LSI < 2.07, development of reactive eyelid oedema and orbital cell carcinoma is predicted, with LSI > 3.58 - development of purulent-septic complications of eyelids and orbits.
EFFECT: method enables determining a tactic of interdisciplinary approach to treatment of pyoinflammatory diseases of paranasal sinuses in children with timely prevention of risk of purulent-septic complications of eyelids and orbits.
