FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for the electrochemical preparation of a zinc(II) coordination compound involving the interaction of a metal ion with a ligand in a two-component solvent medium followed by separation of the precipitate. The method is characterized by the fact that the interaction of a metal ion with a ligand is carried out by electrolysis of a solution containing 2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-2-imino-4-oxo-1,3-thiazole-5-acetic acid and an equimolar amount of sodium hydroxide with zinc electrodes, while the mass ratio of water: ethanol: sodium hydroxide: 2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-2-imino-4-oxo-1,3-thiazole-5-acetic acid is 25.00:19.73:0.37:1.60, the density of direct electric current is 3-5 mA/cm2.
EFFECT: production of a zinc (II) coordination compound by electrochemical method in one stage and with less time.
