FIELD: pharmaceutics.
SUBSTANCE: group of invention relates to the field of pharmaceutics, namely to methods (options) for modification of the release of a therapeutically active agent from an elastomeric matrix, including: provision of a core containing an elastomeric matrix of polydimethylsiloxane and indomethacin; immersion of the core into a solution for coating application, containing elastomer containing 20-35 wt.% of a filler per the total amount of the filler and elastomer; exposure of the immersed core for provision of a coated core. The immersion is carried out in the form of a continuous process by pulling the core through the solution, using a pulling speed of 5-25 mm/s; elastomer contained in the core and elastomer contained in the solution for coating application are independently selected from poly(dimethyl)siloxanes, polyethylene vinyl acetates (EVA), polyurethanes (PU), polyhydroxyethyl methacrylates (PHEMA), and polymethyl methacrylates (PMMA); elastomer in the solution for coating application is 5-25 wt.%; a solvent is xylene.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides alternative methods for modification of the release of a therapeutically active agent from an elastomeric matrix to obtain thin membranes with a thickness from 10 to 100 mcm.
